Toccoa Military Museum Build - Part 1

In what started off as a visit and conversation about models with one of the staff, it resulted in the museum receiving a model of a C-47 in invasion stripes that they had been wanting. It was built by members of Georgia Mountain Modelers and of The League of Extraordinary Modelers. This is the first of hopefully many more builds for the museum and another of a 1/72 scale C-47 with a Waco glider attached to it is next. For more information on the museum please visit their site.

The 1/48 C-47 scene here was completed by three builders. Keith Pruitt and Chris Mobley in Georgia and Dan Duna in Virginia. Keith built the plane, Dan painted the figures and Chris built the base. None of the three parts came together finally until just before putting it into the display case. Everything fit together great so that was a major relief. The kit used is the old Monogram kit with aftermarket decals.
